COMMUNITY
Investment
We actively engage with local communities through public tours, meetings and town hall events, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Additionally, since 2023, we have donated more than $400,000 to local communities projects and organizations across the region, because we believe in the Range and we know that the strength of our company is only as strong as the strength of our communities.
Education
When operational, the project will create approximately $30 million in annual revenues to the State of Minnesota and school districts in the form of taxes, including production taxes. Mesabi believes that education opens doors to opportunities, allowing students to grow, pursue their passions and make a positive impact on the world around us.
Tribal Relations
Mesabi Metallics is dedicated to fostering strong, respectful relationships with local tribal communities and doing right by the land that provides the resources to power our world. Mesabi actively collaborates with tribal leaders to ensure that its operations align with the cultural and environmental values of the region. Through ongoing dialogue, Mesabi Metallics strives to create opportunities for economic growth and employment while respecting tribal sovereignty. This commitment reflects Mesabi’s deep understanding of the importance of partnership and shared prosperity with Indigenous peoples.
