Mesabi Metallics is seeking an experienced and driven Associate General Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong background in contract review, regulatory compliance, real estate, and financing transactions. This individual will play a critical role in supporting our legal operations across construction, permitting, commercial transactions, financing, and long-term development strategies.
The Coordinator – Pellet Plant Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance activities within the pellet plant to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety. This role will lead and coordinate the maintenance team, including planning, scheduling, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance tasks. The Coordinator will work closely with the operations, engineering, and health & safety teams to support plant performance and meet production targets.
The General Manager – Mine is responsible for the full leadership and operational execution of mining activities at Mesabi Metallics. This executive-level position oversees all aspects of mine operations, mine maintenance, and mine technical services. The General Manager will own and oversee the mine plan, from strategic life-of-mine planning to short-term scheduling and daily execution, ensuring alignment across technical and operational teams to meet safety, production, cost, and compliance goals.
We are seeking a Lead Autonomous Haulage Systems Engineer to spearhead the design, implementation, and commissioning of an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) for our Taconite Mine Operation in Minnesota’s Mesabi Iron Range. The system will utilize 400-ton haul trucks (e.g. Komatsu 980E-4AT) in coordination with the Komatsu PC7000 shovel. This is a hands on, strategic leadership role focused on developing a reliable technical and operational framework tailored to the abrasive taconite ore and the region’s extreme environmental conditions, including sup-zero temperatures. Working closely with teams across mine planning, IT, operations, maintenance, and OEM partners like Komatsu, the engineer will ensure seamless AHS integration, full MSHA compliance, and secure IT/OT infrastructure to manage cybersecurity risks. Additionally, the engineer will lead workforce training initiatives and support sustainability goals through improved fuel efficiency and system optimization.
Mesabi Metallics is looking for a Manager – Health & Safety who will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees across mining and plant operations. This role is responsible for overseeing and enforcing all health and safety protocols, developing and overseeing safety programs, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, including those set by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), and fostering a culture of safety throughout all operations. The Manager – Health & Safety will work closely with the Safety Coordinators, employees, and contractors to identify hazards, implement preventive measures, and address safety concerns effectively.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager – Tailings to lead the planning, construction oversight, and future operation of our tailings system and tailings basin. This critical leadership role will ensure that all tailings-related infrastructure is constructed safely, complies with regulatory and environmental standards, and is ready to support plant commissioning and long-term operations.
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Network Support Engineer/Specialist. The ideal candidate will be capable of diagnosing network and security issues, configuring hardware/software systems, and collaborating across teams to enhance and maintain IT infrastructure. This role also involves Level 1 and Level 2 support responsibilities.
Mesabi Metallics is looking for a Safety Technician with to support the implementation and enforcement of workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of MSHA standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing incidents, and promoting a culture of safety across all site operations.
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Trainer – Mine Operations to support the operational excellence of our taconite mining operations in Nashwauk, Minnesota. This position plays a key role in training and developing operators on the safe, efficient, and effective use of our Komatsu equipment fleet, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, shovels, and other surface mining machinery.
